Hong Kong Hotels’ Pools

If you are not a member of a private pool club or don’t have the luxury of having a pool at home, don’t worry – you can still enjoy the refreshing waters and a spritz or two while splashing around in some of Hong Kong’s swankiest hotel pools. Most hotels in the city have their own swanky swimming pools with top-notch facilities, amazing views and plenty of dining options to go along with your dip. Whether you are after a bit of a workout or simply want to relax and cool down in the water with a tipple in hand, these hotel pools will leave you feeling refreshed and re-energized in no time.

With the coronavirus restrictions in effect, some public and government-run swimming pools have been closed and others have varying opening hours. If you are planning to swim, check the Leisure and Cultural Services Department website for updates before heading out.

If a fun-filled day at the pool is on your wish list, head to the Ma On Shan Swimming Pool in Sha Tin. This pool is known for its giant water slides, including the 9m high slide – a favourite with thrill-seeking kids! It also has three leisure pools with a selection of fountains and water slides, along with round stepping and toddler pools. If you are looking to kick back and relax, this pool has a lovely lounge area for guests too.

The Kerry Hotel is another good option for a relaxing afternoon by the pool. Their outdoor pool has a fantastic view of the city and is surrounded by tropical plants for an even more tranquil atmosphere. They serve a variety of drinks and snacks at the poolside bar, Red Sugar, which is also a great place to get a sun tan before and after your swim. A day pass for members is HK$250 on weekdays and HK$350 on weekends and public holidays.

Another option is to visit the new swimming pool at Victoria Park in Kowloon, which was completed in recent years and features a 50-metre main pool, an underwater diving platform, and the largest swimming pool spectator stand in Hong Kong with seating for 2,500 people. This is an ideal pool for a family trip to Hong Kong, with a large water play area and a toddler pool that will keep the little ones entertained while mum and dad can kick back and enjoy the spectacular cityscape. During summer, this pool is one of the best places to cool down and soak up the amazing views.
