There aren’t many places in the world that can boast of having as many fabulous pools as Hong Kong. There are public swimming pools, pools in residential complexes, and of course, the ultimate pool – the ocean. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other pools we can enjoy too, especially some pretty rad rooftop pools.
Whether you’re looking for an infinity pool with breathtaking views, a Jacuzzi with underwater speakers, or a glam spot to sip cocktails and watch the sun go down, there’s a pool in Hong Kong for you. These beautiful and tranquil pools are perfect for some laps, a relaxing massage, or just some quality time in the water with friends or family.
The infinity pool at the Four Seasons Hong Kong is a great place to spend some time, especially on a sunny day. The pool’s panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon skyline are sure to take your breath away. Unlike most other Hong Kong hotel rooftop pools, the Four Seasons doesn’t limit access to only their guests. Non-hotel guests can purchase a day pass for $500 on weekdays and $700 on weekends, making it one of the more affordable ways to enjoy a gorgeous view of the city. Stay until sunset, and you can also indulge in a few drinks at their al fresco bar, Red Sugar.
Another popular rooftop pool is the one at the Kerry Hotel in Kowloon. The infinity pool here isn’t as big as the one at the Four Seasons, but it still offers some fantastic views of the city. Plus, the Kerry is a bit cheaper – you can buy a day pass for a mere $450 on weekdays and $490 on weekends.
What Eaton Hong Kong’s rooftop pool lacks in size, it makes up for in style. This quirky pink and seafoam green pool will have you feeling like you’re in a Wes Anderson film. The flamingo decor is a nice touch, and the fact that only 20 people are allowed to swim in the pool at once is another selling point.
You can find a lot of public swimming pools in Hong Kong, and most of them have different sessions throughout the day. Some are more for swimming laps, some are for general use and others have kids’ pools. You can check the government website for a list of all the public pools in Hong Kong and Kowloon.
The biggest and most well-known of all Hong Kong’s pools is the Pao Yue Kong pool complex in Wong Chuk Hang. This stunning complex is made up of pools for every kind of swimmer. You can practise your laps in the main pool, practice your dives in the diving pool, or even let your kids have some fun at the two kid-friendly pools with water slides and sprinklers. The ceiling and walls of the main pool are adorned with 144 LED screens, displaying soothing illustrations of tree canopies, coral reefs, and other nature scenes.
